Official groundbreaking on February 2, 2017 was an exciting event with Brigadier General Rodney Fogg delivering remarks along with the Museum Director, Dr Francoise Bonnell. Dr. Bonnell is responsible for efforts to get the expansion approved and funded as well as the vision for the new galleries.
Now months later, exhibits have been designed and are being built to specification. The big day for the ribbon cutting has been announced for November 2, 2018. These pictures show the journey to get us a new Army Women’s museum that tells the stories of Army women and their contributions from 1775 to present.
FAWMA is supporting the museum’s expansion through its Preserve the Legacy campaign. While the Army has provided much of the funds needed for the expansion, there are items that FAWMA is supporting through your donations. Please see the Preserve the Legacy campaign page to see how you can help.
