    • Positioned at the front doors entering the Museum to greet our guests, and/or answer questions about the Museum. Outgoing, friendly people person needed here.
    • Assist in public relations area with necessary administrative functions. Duties could include: filing, photocopying, preparing new visitor information packets, preparing the front kiosk display rack, creating and updating information flyers.
    • Assists the Education and Training Specialist with a variety of tasks including: greeting groups, preparing and distributing free museum items, directing groups to museum venues, distributing and collecting materials to groups.
    • Assist with various duties during school visits such as making copies and distributing worksheets, materials, or other objects. The volunteer may also help the Education and Training Specialist with aspects of technology (lights, sound, computer, video) and classroom management.
    • The volunteer will be responsible for helping refine or update material for field trips or public programming curriculum. Duties include brainstorming and assisting with the creation of new activities or topics, and researching for information on the class.
    • The volunteer will help develop and conduct special educational and training programs to a variety of visitors. Some of these programs include:

    • Volunteer will be called in to staff special events throughout the year. Special Event Volunteers will have a variety of tasks but all will involve intense contact with the public at the Museum's busiest times.
    • Assist the Education department in researching and writing new tour scripts to augment the permanent exhibition visit experience.
    • Assist various staff with preparing text for the website, filming events, scanning and manipulating photographs, preparing publications, invitations and emails.
    • Reference Library, Specialized Archival Projects, Library General Researcher.
